Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Best AI Image Detector (the “Service”), available at bestaiimagedetector.com. By using the Service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. What the Service is

The Service is a free tool that estimates whether an image was generated or edited by artificial intelligence. Analysis runs inside your web browser using a model downloaded to your device. The Service produces a statistical likelihood, presented as a 0–100 score with supporting signals.

2. No warranty and no guarantee of accuracy

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. AI detection is probabilistic. Results can be wrong — both false positives and false negatives occur — and must not be treated as proof of how an image was created.

3. No evidentiary, forensic or legal use

Results from the Service must not be used as evidence, and we give no validation, certification or attestation of any kind about any image. A score is the output of a statistical model running on your own device. It is not a forensic examination, there is no chain of custody, no qualified examiner has reviewed it, and nobody can be cross-examined on it.

You agree not to submit, cite or rely on a result as proof of how an image was created in:

  • litigation, arbitration, mediation or any criminal or civil proceeding;
  • insurance claims determinations or fraud investigations;
  • immigration, visa, asylum or identity-verification decisions;
  • employment, recruitment, promotion or disciplinary decisions;
  • academic misconduct, plagiarism or examination proceedings;
  • credit, lending, tenancy or eligibility assessments;
  • content moderation actions taken against an individual without human review;
  • any other process in which a person may be penalised, excluded or accused.

Where a decision of that kind turns on the authenticity of an image, instruct a qualified digital forensic examiner. The specific ways this tool is known to be unreliable are set out on the accuracy and limitations page, which forms part of these terms.

4. Your responsibility for decisions

You are solely responsible for how you use the results, and for any action you take or do not take because of one. Always weigh a result alongside context, sourcing and human judgement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Service, including losses arising from a false positive on a genuine image or a false negative on a generated one. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

5. No professional advice

The Service does not provide legal, financial, investigative, medical or other professional advice, and using it creates no professional relationship between you and us. Nothing produced by the Service should be treated as a substitute for advice from a qualified professional in the relevant field.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • upload or process images you have no lawful right to use;
  • use the Service to harass, defame, or unlawfully surveil any person;
  • attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer for abuse, or circumvent the Service's technical limits;
  • present results as a definitive, certified or authenticated determination of authorship;
  • represent to any third party that we have verified, validated or certified an image;
  • use the Service on behalf of anyone under 13 years of age.

7. Intellectual property

The Service, its design, text and underlying model are owned by Best AI Image Detector or its licensors and are protected by applicable law. You retain all rights to the images you analyse; we obtain no rights to them, and — because analysis is local — we do not receive them (see the Privacy Policy).

8. Third-party components

The Service loads web fonts and, when you paste a link to an image that a website will not share directly, may route that request through a third-party proxy so the check can proceed. Those third parties operate under their own terms. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

9. Paid plans

The Service is currently free in full. A paid tier is described on the pricing page at a published price of $39 per year. It is not yet available, no payment can be taken for it, and describing it there is not an offer capable of acceptance. Should it launch, separate subscription terms covering billing, renewal, cancellation and refunds will be presented before any payment is taken, and everything the free tier does today will remain free.

10. Availability and changes

We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without notice. We may also update these terms; material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms.

11. Governing approach

Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under mandatory local law. Where a provision is found unenforceable, the remainder continues in effect.
