The honest bit

Why there is no paid plan

A price was published on this page for a while: $39 a year for a tier called Pro, marked as in development. It has been taken down, because a price attached to something with no build date and no checkout is a promise rather than information.

What is true today is simpler. The tool is finished and it is free. If a paid tier is ever built it will cover the workflow around a check rather than the check itself — saved history for an audit trail, reports carrying your own branding, shareable links tied to a case, an API for people running this at volume. Three commitments hold whatever happens:

Detection stays free. The score, the region map, the Content Credentials check and both export formats are the product. A better model, if one arrives, reaches the free tier too.

Your images stay on your device. No future feature becomes a reason to start uploading files. Shareable links already work this way: the analysis travels inside the link, the picture never does.

No usage meter. No credits, no per-check pricing, and the free allowance does not get cut to make a paid tier look better. The daily limit exists to keep automated scraping from making free unsustainable, and the batch cap of 25 exists because a browser tab has finite memory.

What people ask about the price

Is it really free, or is this a trial?
It is free, and it is not a trial. Nothing expires, no card is stored and there is no account to cancel. The reason is structural rather than generous: the model runs on your device, so a check costs us nothing to serve. There is no point at which the tool stops working and asks you for money.
Why is there a daily limit of 50?
To keep automated scraping from making the free allowance unsustainable to offer. Fifty images a day is far beyond what somebody checking a suspicious photo will use, and the count lives in your own browser rather than on a server. Clearing your site data resets it, which tells you how seriously it is enforced.
Will there be a paid tier later?
Possibly, and there is no date. If one arrives it would cover reporting and team workflow — saved history, branded reports, an API — and it would not take anything away from what is free today. The score, the region map, the exports and the C2PA check stay free permanently.
What is the catch? Are you selling my images?
No, and the architecture makes it impossible rather than merely against policy. Your files are read and scored inside your own browser and are never transmitted. There is no upload endpoint, no storage bucket and no account attached to you. Open the network tab during a check and you can confirm it yourself.
Can I use it commercially?
Yes. Agencies, claims teams, moderators and newsrooms use it as part of paid work, and no separate licence is needed for that. What you cannot do is present a result as a certified determination, or rely on one alone in a decision that penalises somebody. The limits are set out in full on the accuracy page.
Do you need more than 50 checks a day?
Get in touch and say what you are checking and roughly how many. Volume use is the clearest signal of what a paid tier should actually contain, and hearing it directly from somebody doing the work is worth more than guessing at a feature list.
